Former President George W. Bush Never Forgets 9/11 Thanks To His Towering Twin Daughters

CRAWFORD, TX–On a day when the whole nation pauses to reflect, the memories and emotions behind 9/11 are not lost on former United States President George W. Bush, who was in office at the time of the terrorist attacks. We sat down with George to discuss his takeaways 20 years later.

“Never forget. I never forget 9/11. Sometimes, I’m, like, ‘what was that September thing?’ Then I remember my daughters, Jenna and Barbara. My two towering twin girls. And then my mind goes to the Twin Towers, and I remember again,” the former president explained. “That’s when I get sad. I don’t know if it makes you sad. I don’t know what other people think about it, but from where I stand — it’s definitely a sad thing.”

Bush then went into great detail about the decision to invade Afghanistan, doubling down on it once again, though most regard it as a mistake these days. “I got two words for you: Osama Bin Laden,” he continued. “You think if I’m not like ‘let’s invade Afghanistan’ that we ever kill Osama Bin Laden?”

The conversation soon shifted to Texas Rangers baseball, who sit at dead last in the American League West division. “I don’t want to talk about that. It’s too emotional,” Bush exclaimed before declaring an end to the interview.
